Rafa will play in the Cincinnati final after he defeated Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic in straight sets: 7-5, 7-6.

After the semifinal, Rafa said: "I finished the match playing aggressive with the forehand, with the backhand, and it's great. I think I played a very good match this afternoon against a very difficult opponent who came to this match playing very well, and I have to be very, very happy about everything."

In Western & Southern Open final, Rafa will play against John Isner of United States. On head to head, Rafa leads Isner: 3-0. Their last match was in 2011 at Roland Garros, where Rafa won in 5 sets: 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4.
