Strong !

Even if he was eliminated by  Fabio Fognini in Rio, Rafa must stay strong. And he did. He managed to defeat Facundo Arguello in Buenos Aires in straight sets: 6-4, 6-0 after only one hour and 4 minutes of play.

After the match, Rafa said: “What happened is that in the first set, he played well, he played confidently, and I did not play very well. I was a little nervous about the match because of the match that I lost last week in Rio."

“As the match went on, I started to feel a little bit better. Winning the first set was vital, and from then, everything got better... I did things well in the second set."

In the Argentina Open quarterfinals, Rafa will play against Federico Delbonis of Argentina. On head to head, Rafa leads Delbonis: 1-0. Their only match was in 2013 at Vina del Mar, where Rafa won in straight sets: 6-3, 6-2.

First clay victory of 2015

Rafa defeated Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil in straight sets at Rio Open: 6-4, 6-1 and this is the first victory on clay for Rafa this year.

After the match, Rafa said: "I think I played well. Keeping in mind that it was a long time since I last played on clay. I played not looking to complicate things, because I knew it was not the day to do so. I tried not to make big mistakes."

In 2nd Round, Rafa will play against Pablo Carreno-Busta of Spain. Rafa never played Carreno-Busta before.
