Before getting on a plane to Monte Carlo on Friday, Rafa Nadal spoke to the international media about his hopes for the upcoming clay season.
It will be "challenging," but "my objective is to have a good clay season, to play good tennis and right now, I don’t plan on overtaking Federer or Djokovic in the rankings," he explained.
"It's not a goal of mine, I am defending more points than everyone else, all the way till Roland Garros," Rafa said. "After Paris, if I've got good results, then yes I might have a small chance but right now I have to defend the title in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome, as well as a final in Madrid, and that's 3,500 points in a month and a half," he added.
"I have to face this tournament like any other clay-court event. It is a especially important tournament for me, but it is also a big challenge to return to play on clay." he said about Monte Carlo, "It’s something I haven’t done since the Davis Cup final (against the Republic Czech in Barcelona), he concluded.
Your objective is to play good tennis and our objective is to suppurt you !!!
VAMOS RAFA !!!
